Welcome to
the Carnevil.

For Halloween 2024, the invitation promised a Carnevil and haunted fun fair. Red-and-cream stripes, a draped tent ceiling, and an oversized clown mouth turned the entrance into a walk through the midway.

A skeletal fortune teller, glowing lanterns, circus projections, and bursts of red and violet light carried the theme into the room. The photographs trace the work behind it, from the first wall covering to the finished scene.

01 · The invitation

02 · Behind the scenes

Building
the midway.

Stripes went up, fabric gathered overhead, and a hand-painted clown became a doorway. A look at the pieces coming together before the lights went down.

03 · Ready for the night

Let the carnival
come alive.

Red and violet light changed the room. The clown entrance, draped ceiling, lanterns, and balloon canopy brought the finished setting into focus.
